Thane Civic Chief Warns Officials On Illegal Buildings

Mumbai: The Thane Municipal Commissioner, Saurabh Rao, issued a warning of stern action against assistant commissioners if they fail to take action on illegal constructions within their respective areas.
The warning was issued by Rao during a closed-door meeting with civic officials recently.
Talking to Bizz Buzz, Prashant Sharma, President, Naredco Maharashtra says, “The Thane Municipal Commissioner’s stern directive to curb illegal constructions is a much-needed step towards ensuring planned urban development and upholding the integrity of real estate regulations.”
Unauthorised constructions not only pose serious safety hazards but also disrupt the city’s infrastructural planning and burden civic amenities. It is imperative that authorities take swift and decisive action against such developments to maintain transparency and protect homebuyers from potential risks. At Naredco Maharashtra, we advocate for stringent enforcement of building regulations while also streamlining approvals for legal developments to curb the rise of unauthorized structures, he said.
A collaborative effort between the government, civic bodies, and the real estate industry is essential to foster sustainable urban growth in Thane and across Maharashtra.
